Advani’s 40-day yatra reaches Delhi

New Delhi : Hundreds of BJP supporters gathered Sunday at Ramlila Maidan here to cheer party leader L.K. Advani as he prepared to conclude his 40-day Jan Chetna Yatra.

Advani will address a rally at the sprawling ground in the heart of the capital marking the end of his journey through 22 states and five union territories to draw public attention to the government’s alleged failure to curb corruption and get back black money stashed in foreign banks.

BJP supporters at the rally ground carried flags and placards to welcome Advani. Hundreds continued to pour into the ground.

The concluding rally will also be addressed by the BJP brass including party president Nitin Gadkari, Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitley besides key figures from the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

These include Janata Dal-United president Sharad Yadav and Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal.

Advani, who kicked off his journey Oct 11 from Bihar, addressed a rally at Ghaziabad Saturday night.
