Late monsoon burst , woollens out in Himachal hills

Shimla : It rained heavily Thursday across many parts of Himachal Pradesh including Shimla bringing down the mercury considerably and forcing many to pull out their woollens, and marking the end of summer and the advent of autumn in the hills.

Shimla recorded a maximum temperature of 18.5 C.The rain stopped in the evening but the weather man has forecast more rain at many places for much of the this week in the middle hills of the state.

The latest wet spell is being attributed due to a fresh western disturbance.
