Shimla : People reporting sick with scrub typhus continues to rise in Himachal Pradesh’s premier hospital IGMC hospital with 16 fresh positive cases on Saturday.
Hospital authorities say in the past few weeks 975 blood samples have been taken, out of which 402 samples were found positive with scrub typhus.So far 17 deaths have been reported in the state.
Scrub typhus patients experience high fever, severe headache, and rashes where the mite bite.
Patients treated with antibiotics typically recover within 48 hours of starting therapy.If it goes untreated it can cause complications and death.
