Shimla: A 35 year old widow was found murdered with her throat slit by a sharp weapon in a rented apartment here on Tuesday, a police spokesman said.
Anita, who used to work in a stationery shop in the city, was found lying in a pool of blood by the land lady, mother of complainant Nirmala Devi, a resident of Thakur Niwas in Chamrog village on Tuesday morning.
The murdered woman was a tenant in the building and was not seen on the previous day. On not seeing Anita on Monday, the landlady provided shelter to one of the minor sons of the deceased. Another child of the murdered woman is said to be living at a home for destitute.
However, when the landlady went to look up her tenant on Tuesday morning, through a wire meshed window she saw her lying on the floor in a pool of blood.
The matter was reported to the police and investigators led by inspector Shakuntala Devi, reached the spot to carry out investigations.
“We have collected some vital clues,†said Shakuntala Devi, “but a breakthrough in the murder case is still to be made.â€
