Shimla: A case was registered on the complaint that Piara Singh Kanungo and Sham Lal Patwari, Patwar Circle Badshali were demanding bribe money as Rs. 500/- and 200/- from the complainant when he had applied for demarcation of his land.
During investigation both accused were caught red handed with bribe money i.e. Rs. 500/- and 200/- on 17.01.2008.
Challan was put up in the court on 17.11.08 against both the accused after obtaining prosecution sanction.
After trial both accused Piara Singh Kanungo and Sham Lal Patwari have been convicted by the Court of Special Judge, Una and sentenced today for one year Rigorous imprisonment and fine Rs. 5000/-.
