Dharamsala : A day after Lobsang Sangay took over as the new Prime Minister of the Tibetan government-in-exile a group of foreign dignitaries on Tuesday joined Tibetans to celebrate and facilitate him.
â€œThe dignitaries consist of MPs from Japan,Taiwan,Mongolia,Nepal, European parliament,Italy and members of the Tibet support groups,â€ a spokesman of the Tibetan government-in-exile said in Dharamsala,northern India.
They vowed to continue their strong support and solidarity with Tibetans to improve the situation inside Tibet.
Yang Jianli,president of the initiatives for China-USA said, â€œI am honoured and humbled to lead a delegation of Chinese to attend and speak at todayâ€™s celebration of Lobsang Sangay as PM.â€
â€œThe Chinese government has no choice but to face the Tibetan issue through open dialogue with Lobsang Sangay,â€ Yang said.
Eva Lichtenberger vice president of the Greens EFA group said, â€œWe assure you that Tibet and the problems of the Tibetan people will remain in the centre of the heart in the European parliament.â€
