Shimla: Police on patrol duty seized a mini-truck on Monday and arrested the driver over charges of smuggling liquor at Deha township in Shimla district.
The patrol team led by police officer Dev Raj in the wee hours at 4 a.m. held up a Swaraj Mazda mini truck (HP-51B-0637) moving about suspiciously.
On inspection the team recovered 125 boxes of country liquor and 5 boxes of English liquor from the vehicle.
Driver Ramesh Kumar, a resident of Dhar village in Theog tehsil has been arrested with the consignment, said a police spokesman.
