Una in the foothills of Himachal Pradesh recorded the highest temperature of the season at 43 C Monday,six notches above normal,the weatherman said.
In the mid hills the mercury in Solan soared to 34 C and in Dharamsala the seat of the Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama it was 34.6C.
The queen of the hills Shimla also experienced a warm day with the temperature going upto to 28C, some six degrees above normal.It was a hazy day for much of the day here.
Shimla and other popular tourist resorts like Manali,Dharamsala,Dalhousie,Kasauli,Chail,Kufri and Narkanda are teeming with tourists escaping from the searing heat of the plains of northern India.
In tribal Kinnaur the mercury went upto up to 26C in Kalpa,five notches above normal.
