Shimla: Ten people, which included four females were killed in a road accident near Chamba town and another two sustained critical injuries when the vehicle they were travelling in lost control and rolled into the valley, district officials disclosed.
Devesh Kumar, deputy commissioner Chamba said, “There were 12 persons travelling in the vehicle that met with an accident at about 3.45 p.m. on Monday.â€
The survivors have been identified as Hema Sharma (34) and Rishab (19), who are residents of Delhi.
The male dead members in the accident have been identified as Sunil Sharma, Aditya Sharma, Yatinder Yadav, Shivay and Deepak Sharma whereas the females victims were Kushi Sharma, Rosy, Seema Sharma and Tanya, an official said.
All the ten victims died on the spot. The vehicle bearing a Delhi maxi-cab number (DL 1V 6734) was on its way from the tourist spot of Khajjiar to Chamba when the accident occurred at Mangla village, about 20 kms short of Chamba town, he said.
Relatives of the accident victims have been contacted, said the district administration official who was involved in the rescue and relief operation.
