Shimla: High powered single window clearance authority on Monday gave it nod for setting 8 new industries and permitted expansion of one. Entailing an investment of Rs 1244.59 crores, the proposals of Micromax Energy, Cipla and Sun Juice were among those approved.
Presided over by chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, the high power authority approved a Rs 630 crore investment proposal of Micromax Energy for setting up a solar energy farm.
Pharmaceutical company Cipla proposal for setting up a new unit with an investment of Rs 270 crore got the go ahead.
Other project cleared included a Rs 51.75 crore investment proposal by Sun Juices for setting up a fruit and milk processing unit and a Rs 20.14 crore investment proposal by Shivalik Bimetal Controls for manufactur8ing bonded clad strips.
Speaking on the occasion, the chief minister said that the investment proposals cleared today would create 1860 new jobs in the sector.
