A former NGO leader of Himachal Pradesh Gopal Das Varma was shot in his arm by an unidentified man in Mohali on the edge of Chandigarh on Sunday,police said.
Varma’s car a Hyundai Accent was shot at three times shattering his windscreen.Despite being shot on his right arm Varma managed to drive away from the spot.
The former employees leader was later admitted to a hospital in Mohali.He and his wife were driving back to Shimla when the freak firing incident took place.
Media reports said the unidentified man also shot and injured another man.
