Shimla: Chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, known for counting 9 as his lucky digit, was presented a donation draft of Rs 999,999 towards CMs Relief Fund by chairman of Kangra Cooperative Bank on behalf of the bank employees.
A government spokesman, however, explained that the amount was a one day salary contribution from the bank employees towards the relief fund which was handed over by bank chairman RS Mankotia today.
Dhumal thanked the employees and management and said that a large number of poor and deserving people seek financial assistance for various critical ailments. The fund deposits were being used to meet such exigencies, he said.
