Shimla: Despite the central government having pre-maturely withdrawn excise tax incentives for new industry in Himachal, the state has been able to attract fresh investment proposals worth Rs 780 crore, which include 12 new unit proposals and 7 expansion proposals.
Presided over by chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, the state level single window clearance authority today approved the Rs 136.83 Cr proposal of Winsome Textile to set up a new unit in Himachal.
Other proposals approved included LSI Textile LLP plans for setting up a unit with Rs 57 crore investment; Torque Pharmaceuticals proposal to invest Rs 38.70 crore; Nandowest Nano Technologies to invest Rs. 23 crore; Zoya Fruit Products and Ganesha Foods proposals to set up food processing units while Ankit Wine and Kot Ghei Winery to brew fruit based wine at Karsog and Jais Ghatti in Theog.
Speaking on the occasion Dhumal said that despite withdrawal of the Special Industrial Package concessions, the process of industrial investment had continued unabated.
