Shimla: To meet the shortages on blood supply in the city hospitals, Umang Foundation on Martyr’s Day organized a blood donation camp on The Ridge, where 62 donors turned to make the life saving contribution.
The camp was inaugurated by Ms Madhu Sudan, a veteran blood donor who has donated blood 99 times, said Yashwant Rai, general secretary of Umang Foundation.
Despite the prevailing cold weather and icy winds blowing, the camp organized in collaboration with DDU hospital was a success as a large number of donor turned up. It was the best way of paying tribute to Mahatma Gandhi on Martyrdom Day, said Rai.
