Shimla: Faced with rising cases of drug abuse among students, the police were able to nab three persons in Dhalli suburb who have been arrested under NDPS for peddling drugs.
While patrolling on Christmas Eve, assistant sub inspector Prakash Chand came across Kuldeep Verma, son of Diwan Chand, a resident of Uddu village in Durgapur and Krishan, son of Mast Ram a resident Purag village in Nerwa Chopal around the Sabzi Mandi area of Dhalli roaming under suspicious conditions. A surprise check up turned up 50 bottles of Rexcof from the duo who were carrying the medication misused for drug abuse without and authorization or medical prescription.
Separately, sub-inspector Kamal Chand, patrolling the same suburb came across Sandeep Kumar, son of Raghvir Singh, a resident Kayardu in tehsil Chopal and found him with 17 bottles of Rexcof and 180 tablets of Nitrazepam.
Sonal Agnihotri, district police chief said, “all three person have been arrested and a case under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotic Substances Act has been made out against them.â€
