Shimla: With the aim of achieving proximity to photography enthusiasts, Nikon India, the 100% subsidiary of Nikon Corporation, today announced the launch of its first Nikon COOLPIX Zone in the city.
Hiroshi Takashina, Managing Director, Nikon India, who inaugurated Himachal’s first COOLPIX Zone today at Sohans Studio said that the company had adopted the shop-in-shop retail concept in the month of February last year to enable ready access to its products and services.
“Photography lovers in Shimla can now have an easy access to the entire range of COOLPIX cameras and make an informed choice,†he said.
Nikon’s shop-in-shop zones are an attempt to provide customers with an interactive and informative shopping experience.
Takashina said, “The launch of Nikon’s COOLPIX Zone in Shimla is a major step towards not only strengthening our brand but also promoting photography culture in India in a big way.
We hope the new COOLPIX zone enhance customer engagement, buying experience and augment access and availability. We are certain that this initiative of Nikon will be received well by consumers in Shimla”.
Laying out the company’s retail plan, Jitender Chugh, Deputy General Manager, Sales and Marketing, Nikon India said, “Nikon is targeting 1800 retail outlets for in store branding along with the plan to hire more than 200 as store promoters in the current financial year to further improve the buying experience.
The company has already set up more than 60 D-SLR and COOLPIX zones in India so far in cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Coimbatore, Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Allahabad, Chandigarh, Roorkee, Agra, Dehradun, Bhubaneswar, Visakhapatnam, Kochi, Jalandhar, Patiala, Nagpur, Siliguri, Ranchi, Patna, Sirsa, Rajkot, Jamnagar, Ambala, Gaya to name a few.”
‘Nikon COOLPIX Zone’ will display the entire range of COOLPIX compact cameras and select D-SLR cameras. At the Nikon zone consumers, both professional and enthusiasts, get to touch, feel and experience the COOLPIX cameras, D-SLR cameras along with other accessories and expert guidance, technical know-how all under one roof.
