CPI(M) in Himachal protests price rise

Shimla: Rising prices of onions and other essential commodities led district committee of Communist Party of India (Marxists) to stage a protest before the deputy commissioner office, today.

Drubbing the policies of the BJP led state government and congress led UPA government at the centre, the protesters asked them to rein in the prices of essential commodities.

Sanjay Chauhan, district secretary CPI(M) pointed out the artificial scarcity of onion supply caused by UPA Government.

He said first subsidies were handed out trading companies for exporting onions and after causing scarcity now duties have been removed to help traders for importing onions.

Others who spoke at the protest included Falma Chauhan, Balbir Prasher, Kishori Datwalia, Rama Kant Mishra, Balak Ram and Bachan Singh Negi.
