Ashadeep organises blood donation camp on World AIDS Day

Shimla: On World AIDS Day, Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal today inaugurated the emergency blood donation camp called on short notice to cater the dearth of blood in Indira Gandhi Medical College Hospital (IGMC) here organised by prominent NGO Ashadeep at the historic Ridge maidan today.

“IGMC Shimla had given a alert call for emergency blood donation in wake of acute shortage of life saving blood there, following this call, Ashadeep quickly had arranged this camp” the convener of NGO Sushil Tanwar informed.

The Blood camp was presided over by Harish Sharma, AGM of SBI, Shimla, in which 60 people from different walk of life voluntarily came forward to donate the blood.

Enthusiasts tourist and many among them first timers donated blood in the camp making their visit memorable one. Tourists Rajan, Munjal and Payal Gulati was enthrilled after donating their blood for Nobel cause first time in their life while Deepak Bansal donated 3rd times.

Regular local donors who turn up in this camp were 77 time, Rama Sharma, 42 time Raju Thakur and 12 times Archna Phull.
