Shimla: Thirty tourists from Maharashtra had a miraculous escape when the bus in which they were travelling lost control on Saturday morning (9.15 a.m.) and fell into a gorge at Bagipul, about 35 Km from here.
Superintendent Police, Sonal Agnihotri said the tourist were on their way to the natural hot water springs at Tatapani, when the accident occurred. Seventeen persons were injured, seven of them seriously, in the accident, he said. In all there were 30 tourists in the bus, he added.
The injured included 8 women, 7 men and two children, who on being rescued, were rushed to Dhami health centre for emergency treatment.
Police have held wrong and rash driving as the cause of the accident. Though the tourists were from all parts of Maharashtra but most of them are from Mumbai.
