Award winning documentary filmmaker, Vivek Mohan has been selected onto the national jury for short-listing documentary films out of an entry of over 100 films that would be screened at the 41st International Film Festival of India at Goa.
“It’s a great honour as well as a responsibility to be on the jury for selecting the films for the Goa film festival,†said Mohan, who shuttles his time between home at Shimla and workplace in Mumbai.
The Goa IFFI is scheduled to be held from 22nd November to 2nd December, in which about 19 documentary films as part of Indian Panorama are proposed to be screened.
Indian Panorama usually is the focus of the foreign visitors which invites the participation of national films all regions and languages for the year made by panels of eminent filmmakers associated with the cinema is based on thematic and aesthetic excellence of the films without any attempt to regional representation.
The films are provided with the English sub titles before being screened and also sent to foreign film festivals and bilateral cultural exchanges.
In between, Mohan award winning film ‘Malana’ is to be screened at the upcoming Dusherra Festival in Kullu valley.
