Shimla:To ensure transparency in dispersion of social security pensions, the Himachal cabinet gave its nod on Monday for extending the biometric smart card system to all other districts after having successfully implemented it in Una district.
Presided over by chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal, the cabinet decided to extend the Biometric card system to the 11 remaining districts and bring all 267,282 beneficiaries into the nationalized banking network for dispersion and efficiency in the delivery system social security benefit scheme.
With the Shimla Municipal Corporation having failed to profitably run the new buses fleet provided for under JNN Urban Renewal Mission, the cabinet decided to handover the operation of existing fleet of 75 buses in Shimla town to the transport department.
The cabinet approved taking over private High School, Takarla in Una district and the Kamla Nehru Girls High School, Kunihar in Solan district into government control.
The cabinet decided to amend the Himachal Pradesh Value Added Tax Act-2005 and Rules so as to provide e-filing facility of returns and e-payment of tax by dealers and also include Hydraulic Mobile Pick and Carry Cranes under Capital Goods category.
