Shimla: To honour sharp shooter Vijay Kumar Sharma’s spoils at the Commonwealth Games by winning 3 gold and one silver, chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal announced and award of Rs 35 lakhs for his achievements.
The government decided to award Rs 10 lakhs for each state resident who won a gold medal at the games and Rs 5 lakhs for a silver medal and Rs 3 lakhs for a broze medalist.
Sharma will be rewarded Rs 35 lakhs for winning four medals at the games and bringing laurels to the state, said Dhumal.
Sharma is serving in the Indian Army and belongs to Harsour village in Hamirpur district.
