Shimla: For the first quarter, banks in Shimla district disbursed loans worth Rs 478 crore, which included Rs 258 crore in the priority sector and the rest in the non-priority sector.
Presiding over a district consultative and review committee, Sunil Chaudhari, ADC Shimla said that Rs 129 crore was dispersed among the agriculture sector and Rs 101 crore in the service sector.
Reviewing progress under government sponsored schemes; he said 40 poor women were provided financial assistance of Rs. 39 lakhs for setting their own ventures.
He informed that 103 self help groups were formed during first quarter and 78 of them were linked to different banks to seek financial help.
Under Doodh Ganga Yojna, 16 cases were sanctioned and Rs 23 lakh was provided while 18 persons under Prime Minister Self Employment Scheme were provided Rs 25 lakhs, he said.
Mr Bal, General Manager RBI, Ashwani Mahajan DDM NABARD and Rakesh Sharma Lead District Manager among others were present at the meet.
