Shimla: In two separate accidents, three persons were killed and one injured seriously, police sources said.
A car (HP-34A-3560) carrying three persons from Mandi to Shimla met with an accident near Totu on the outskirts of Shimla city at about 6 a.m. in which two persons who happened to be a father and a son were killed on the spot, a policeman said.
The driver is believed to have lost control and the vehicle rolled down into the valley.
He said that Pawan Kumar (35) and his father Mohan Singh (67) who were residents of Mehar village in Mandi died on the spot whereas Nag Chand (58), a resident of Dhalatu village in Mandi sustained serious injuries.
The injured has been admitted at Indira Gandhi Medical College (IGMC) hospital here.
In another accident, Tharpal Singh Kanwar (55), a resident of Railway colony Shoghi was crushed to death on Shimla-Kalka highway at about 11.30 a.m.
The man was crossing the road when the a vehicle of the transport department (HP-63-0022) hit the victim, killing him on the spot, police said.
