Shimla: Rajiv Saizal, the legislative member from Kasauli segment of Solan district has set an example by selling the gifts, shawls and caps presented to him at various functions and donating the money realized towards the chief minister relief fund.
Saizal presented an draft of Rs 11,000 to the chief minister today.
Appreciating the noble gesture, chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal said that other dignitaries would take cue and contribute liberally towards the fund, which is used to provide financial assistance for the poor and needy people.
Many emergency and expensive operations for economically challenged people have been preformed with the help of chief minister’s relief fund, he said.
In the past 30 months, financial assistance worth Rs 13 crore had been released from the chief minister fund, said Dhumal.
