Shimla: To revamp infrastructure Ayurvedic institutions, the Himachal government plans to spend Rs 13.50 crore on constructing 27 new buildings that will be also be suitably equipped, health minister Rajiv Bindal stated here today.
Presiding over a review meeting of the Ayurveda department, Bindal said that a draft proposal for construction of these new buildings had been prepared. He added that Rs 35 lakh would be spent on construction of each building and an additional Rs 15 lakh would be spent for providing equipments.
The minister disclosed that a Ayurvedic Pharmacy College would soon be opened and admission for B. Pharmacy and BSc nursing courses in Ayurveda would start from this year itself.
The government was promoting Ayurveda and Panchkarma system of medicines was introduced in six institutions after the formation of present government. The treatment facility has been extended to 9 more institutions, he added.
