Shimla: Eight passengers were injured and 22 escaped with minor injures when a Himachal roadways bus hit a tree trunk and overturned on the road itself today morning in Chopal area of Shimla district.
The eight injured have been shifted to IGMC hospital Shimla, said a police spokesman. He said that the Himachal Roadways Transport Corp (HTRC) bus (No HP-63-6085) was on it way from Lawoni-Bandhi to Shimla when at Chakri about 10 Kms from Chopal it lost control and hit the tree trunk.
With the bus not rolling into the valley but just overturning on the road, the passengers had a miraculous escape.
However, the police have registered a case to ascertain the cause of the accident.
