Shimla: Governor Urmila Singh on recommendation of the chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal today accepted the resignation of JP Nadda, the forest minister from the council of ministers.
The resignation was accepted in public interest, said an official spokesman. A notification to the effect was issued here today.
The minister had tendered his resignation on March 18 fto take up a position in the party after BJP president Nitin Gadkari appointed Nadda as a national general secretary.
Meanwhile the portfolio’s of Forest, Science and Technology, Parliamentary Affairs, Election and Law and Legal Remembrance that Nadda was holding in the council of minister stand re-allocated to the chief minister.
The acceptance of the resignation has created a vacancy in the 11 member cabinet, for which intense lobbying is going on.
