The first phase of Census-2011 in snow capped areas would begin from 1st June, 2010. This was stated by Balbir Tegta, Director, Census on the inaugural day of three day workshop on census-2011 organised at Rekong Peo in tribal district of Kinnaur today.
He said that entire district Kinnaur, Lahaul and Spiti, Dodra Kawar tehsil of district Shimla, Sub Tehsil Multhan of district Kangra and Pangi Tehsil of Chamba were considered to be snow covered areas, where house listing and housing census would be done.
