Shimla: Three persons died in an accident, early on Sunday morning, as the vehicle loaded with vegetables that they were travelling in lost control and went off a hill road at Kiara village, close to Narkanda in Shimla district.
“The driver, Vijay Kumar (25) and Som Dutt (43) died on the spot, where as Amit (14), the son of Som Dutt succumbed to his injuries while on the way to the hospital,†said a police spokesman.
He said that the accident occurred at about 6 a.m. when the new pick-up vehicle that had not even been allotted a regular registration number was carrying a load of vegetables to be marketed from Kiara to Shimla.
The driver is believed to have lost control and the vehicle after rolling about 200 meters down the hillside came to a stop in the valley.
A rescue operation was carried out but, Amit, the only survivor from the impact could not be saved and died while be shifted to Theog hospital for emergency treatment, the police said.
