Women Reservation Bill Passed in Rajya Sabha

Shimla: The Women Reservation Bill to ensure 33 percent reservations for women in the Parliament and legislative bodies was passed today in Rajya Sabha.

Ambika Sood, Chairperson, Himachal Pradesh Women Commission has thanked all the parties for ending the fourteen years long battle and showing unequivocal support towards the cause.

She lauded the efforts made by the Chief Minister Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal for providing 50 percent reservation to women in Panchayati Raj Institutions and municipal bodies in Himachal Pradesh.

Raised in Shimla and originally from Mandi district, Disha wears many caps which includes being part of a lead team of a fast growing IT company based out of Chandigarh. Earlier Disha was associated with My Himachal and visits Shimla regularly.
