Shimla: Chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal is to launch Meow, a popular FM station for radio buffs in Shimla on Dec 6, 2009.
“Chief MinisterPrem Kumar Dhumal will formally launch Meow FM Channel,†said Shraddha Mishra, Station & Program Head, Meow FM Shimla, here today.
To be aired on 104.8 FM frequencies besides entertainment the channel content would have informative programs also, she said.
After successfully establishing FM stations in cities like Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkatta, Jodhpur, Amritsar and Patiala, the coverage area of Meow 104.8 FM Shimla would encompass Sanjoli, Billaspur, Hamirpur, Nalagarh, Arki, Solan, Rajgarh, Sarahan, Mandi, Karsog, Kufri, Kumar Sen, Naldehra, Namoli, Kundlu, Malyana, Ari, Och Ghat, Fagu Valley, Rohru, Dharampur, Parwanoo, Kasauli, Jabli, Narkanda, Matiana, Rohru, Barog. Parts of Punjab and Haryana including Chandigarh, Panchkula and Mohali would also come under the coverage area, the channel management claimed in a communiqué.
Meow 104.8 FM, is India Today Group foray into the radio space. “Meow 104.8 FM is the only talk radio in India that is a 24 hours radio station as this concept has already got overwhelming response from many places, said Mishra.
