B.Ed Not For Psychology Students

Sir,
This is to bring to your kind notice that the recruitment drive that is going on these days at Subordinate Selection Board, Hamirpur is playing with the careers of so many students.
I was called for the personal interview after clearing the written test that was conducted by the Subordinate Selection Board, Hamirpur on 9th Oct 2009 at 9:00 AM at Hamirpur. There were nearly 40 candidates who were scheduled for the interview on the same day. All the candidates were required to get their document verified before finally appearing for the personal interview.
When I was called for the document verification at 12:00 noon, one of the official on duty informed me that I’m not eligible for appearing in front of the interview board because I had Psychology  as one of my subject  during my Graduation. He asked me to wait for some time saying that we will give you a letter regarding it.
Nearly a 4 PM he gave me letter in which it was written ” Your Candidature has been cancelled because you have such combination of subjects that are being excluded by govt. recently now
It was a great shock for me when  with in now time, I was informed  that the B.Ed Degree for which  I spent nearly   18 year ( starting from Nursery to Graduation Degree plus one year for B.Ed Degree) is of no use, since it can’ nt fetch me a job for which I have cleared a written test.

I just want to know through you as a medium What is my fault that I was allowed to do B.Ed Degree with Public Administration and Psychology as subject combination. It would have been better if the govt. had made it clear to us in the beginning that the students who have certain combination of subjects at Graduation level are not allowed to pursue the B.Ed course then I would have opted for something else. Till date the admissions are being made on same pattern.
I just  wounder Why Govt is playing with the career of so many students, when the degrees the are providing are of no use, because they will not meet the criteria that govt. is notifying day after day. For new students it may be possible to change their career path, but what about those students who have done their B.Ed degree before the new notification that is being issued by the govt. was not there. It means that their Degree is of no use now.
This is not only my case but their are many other students whose candidature have been cancelled on the same basis. One of the candidate called from Lauhal Spiti was also rejected on the same basis. We were also not given the TA/DA as was mentioned in the call latter saying that your candidature had been cancelled so you will not be paid any TA/DA also.
I want to know that who will pay the compensation for the careers that are being ruined by such notification beside the mental tension the the students like me are going through.
I know and even believe that media plays a vital role in uplifting the society and bring justice to the common people. Now I and Students like me have only faith on you, and even believe that you have that power to bring  justice to all of us. Now  our careers relies on your shoulders.

Hoping you will certainly consider our case.
Regards

Please don’t be shocked into inaction. You can have this work out in your favor. But please get it done in e-speed (extremely fast)

Please plan out your reversal of this maneuver with at least three people ( It may help to have the networked (older) support).

Harvard School for Education relies on Psychology for its graduates:

So does Columbia University’s Teachers College… And same for the 99% of the American Universities… My earlier conversations with Brits have confirmed that it is the same in the UK.

Except for the fundamentalists programs in the Extreme “Christian” Universities, Psychology is regarded as a cornerstone subject for educators.

Please also consider reaching out the international assoc linked to the American Psych Assoc at :

Sorry but you will have to get this fixed- unfortunately seeing this a month later.
