Shimla: Suspended senior police official BS Thind today appeared before the court of Lokayukta and recorded his statement in a complaint filed by him over charges leveled against Ashwani Kumar, director CBI and SR Mardi, IG vigilance, in a idol theft case from Kinnaur that dates back to June 1993.
Thind is said to have also submitted some documents to substantiate the allegations he has leveled in the complaint against the two officers. Recording of the statement that took about three hours was conducted in the chamber of Lokayukta (Retd) Justice Bhawani Singh.
Speaking to the media after the in camera hearing, Thind, alleged that chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal and other senior officials were out to ruin his police career.
Thind has filed a complaint before the Lokayukta about disproportionate assets against chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal and separate complaints against CBI director Ashwani Kumar, DGP vigilance DS Minhas and IG Vigilance SR Mardi.
The complainant has been asked to depose on 8th, 10th and 16th of September and October 7th before the Lokayukta on the issue brought before the court.
Thind was Additional Director General of Police before he was suspended after being arrested in a case about alleged extortion of money from a businessman over getting a disputed commercial property vacated in Parwanoo.
