Shimla: Two persons died on the spot, while two others sustained injuries in a late night car accident that went off the road at Gudda Kuffar, near Mathiana in Theog tehsil of Shimla district.
Purshottam (41 yrs), a resident of Gaddli village and Dinesh (32) a resident of Bharana village in Theog tehsil died in Maruti car (HP-51-2800) accident, last night, a police spokesman said.
The car with four occupants was on its way from Mathiana, when at about 11.pm it lost control and went off the road, close to the villages from where the occupants belonged.
The car rolled about 150 feet before coming to a halt in the valley. The accident was noticed in the night itself and a rescue operation was carried.
While two had died on the spot, Santosh Sharma and Kishori Lal sustained injuries and have been shifted to IGMC college & hospital, where they are being treated.
Cause of the accident could not be ascertained, a case has been registered and investigations are being carried out, police said.
