3 morning walkers arrested for beating up Himachal Administrative Services officer

Shimla: A Himachal Administrative Services (HAS) officer, Amarjit Singh, who was allegedly beaten up by three people on a morning walk has led to their arrest, with the police having registered a case in the matter.

RM Sharma, SP Shimla said that three persons, Dinesh Sud , Umesh Akre and Rajinder Makkar, an retired engineer, were arrested on charges of assault complaint filed by Amarjit Singh.

“A case invoking sections 341, 323, 506, and 34 of IPC has been made out,” he said.

Amarjit Singh, the government official, was reportedly driving on a restricted road for common traffic to drop off his children at a day school that had irked the morning walkers, which led to an argument.

However, Singh did get to drop the children at school but while he was returning, the walkers again encountered the vehicle.

A heated argument is believed to have taken place which allegedly resulted in Singh getting beaten by batons that the walkers were reportedly carrying, police said.

  • What a news! Taking law into their own hands!! Literally!!! Civil servants should not become uncivil bosses…HAS is more of His Authority’s (busy pols right now) Servant in most of the cases most of the time.I’m sure the vehicle was a Govt. one.
