Shimla: Two persons died, including the driver, after an attempt to push-start a private bus carrier failed in the higher hills of Rohru and the vehicle went off the road, on Monday morning.
Information reaching the police said that due to overnight cold temperatures in the region, the diesel supply to the engine was disrupted and the passengers intending to board the bus were asked to push the bus, so that the engine could come to life.
However, the bus rolled on the slopping road and the when brakes failed to apply, the driver could not control the vehicle resulting into a free fall down the hillside.
Driver Bittu (35) and a person nick named Overseer (40), a resident of Garla village were declared dead after the bus had rolled about 200 meters into the valley.
The bus was to start its journey from Banoti to Rohru at 8.30 a.m. when the accident occurred, police said.
