Shimla: Two persons died and one was grievously injured in a car accident on the Kotkhai-Rohru highway, about 100 km from here, on Thursday evening.

Dinesh (40) a resident of Himri village in Kothkhai and Mohinder a resident of Praunti village in Jubbal died on the spot, where the Maruti (HP-09A-1877) car they were traveling in came off the road and fell into valley beyond Shaddi Nallah in Jubbal, police said.

The accident occurred at about 9 p.m. on Thursday.

Sumila, wife of Mohinder, sustained grievous injuries and has been shifted to IGMC hospital in Shimla.

Cause of the accident could not be immediately ascertained. A case has been registered and the accident is being investigated.
