Shimla: The Shoghi Industrial Area Welfare Society (SIAWS), the district administration and the industry department are to deliberate at a Manthan Shivir about how to reactivate industrial activities in the Shoghi Industrial Area.
“The meet with the district administration and industry department would be held on November 15,” said Mohinder Seth, president SIAWS.
Reasons for failure of industrial activities, problems faced by existing plot holders, infrastructural requirements are some of the issues that would be discussed, he said.
Existing plot holders would be encouraged to get their units functional and a platform would be created for those plot holders who are not interested in setting up any unit to pass on the opportunity to new investors.
Focus would also be laid on simplification of rules and procedures, amendments proposed to existing labour laws, formation of a committee to strengthen the single window system and about availability of power and power sharing.
With only 18 months left before the incentives for new industries to Himachal ends, a discussion on modalities to organize industrial meets so as to promote Shoghi industrial area for investments too would be discussed, said Seth.
