Shimla: While launching the construction work of Vivekanand Medical Research Trust hospital and Medical College at Palampur, Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal revealed that Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College, Kangra at Tanda would be developed at par with All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) and additionally Rs. 150 crore would be spent to make the college self-contained and equipped with best of the medical education and diagnostic facilities.
He added that post-graduates training seats had also been included to 20 out of which 9 had been sanctioned for RPGMC Kangra. Moreover, a sperate cadre for IGMC and RPGMC is created by Govt.
Talking over VMRT he said that free treatment of the poor and deserving would be ensured in the VMRT, a dream project of former Chief Minister Shanta Kumar which the State Government took up seriously for completion and roped in Jai Prakash Sewa Sansthan (JPSS), to take over the project work so that it could achieve the objectives for which the Trust was constituted.
