[lang_en]SHIMLA: The Himachal Pradesh government has sent a proposal for foreign funding of a 1,307 crores water supply scheme for the city aiming to bring water to the state capital from the Pubbar River, 137 km away, and using gravity.
Irrigation and Public Health Department Minister Ravinder Singh Ravi said that the Asian Development Bank has agreed to fund this scheme. He said that 45 MLD (million litre daily) extra water would be available to the town under this scheme.
Ravi said the state government is exploring the possibility of using water from various hydel projects for irrigation. The provision had been made in the 40 MW Dhulasidh hydel project.[/lang_en]
