Himachal government demands renovation works of heritage buildings

Prabha Rau, the Governor requested the centre to depute national level experts in order to advise the Himachal government about the renovation works on 91 British era heritage buildings of Shimla as she was speaking in the Conference of Governors at New Delhi today.

She said that at present there are 37 heritage buildings within heritage zone and about 54 heritage buildings were situated outside the heritage zone. Requesting the Central Government to release 11 crores assistance, she said that the renovation works of all these buildings was necessary and urgent.

She also pleaded for increase of quota of the state in armed forces and requested for implementation of one rank one-pension scheme for ex-servicemen. She demanded an increase of central modernization grant to 30 crore per annum and said that it was necessary for the Centre to monitor Parechu lake located in China through satellite monitoring. She also asked for relaxation of norms for hilly areas from 300 population criteria to 150 for sanction of new anganwadi centres and from 150 persons to 75 persons for mini anganwadi centres and requested the Centre Government to allow the state government to levy 10 paisa per unit generation tax on all power units in the State.
