Chamba residents complain regarding prohibition of entry to main road

Opposing the notification issued by District Administration, Chamba prohibiting the use of a main road by the general public including vehicular traffic, the inhabitants of Mohalla Chamesani, Bangotu and upper Chamba Town have now decided to write to P.K.Dhumal, the Chief Minister

The road being used by the citizens since the inception of Chamba town starts from Chaugan main road towards Courts to Sita Ram Temple in Mohalla Bangotu and serves as the main link road that connects Mohalla Chowgan, Main Bazzar and Offices with the Upper Chamba town. Being the only connecting road, services like fire vehicles etc commute through the same. The residents explained their grievances to the Deputy Commisioner, Chamba and also filed a memorandum on 28th July and submitted a reminder of the same on 5th August.

While the citizens were assured by the authorities regarding a solution in benefit of the populace, nothing has been done as yet. The administration has indeed given the option of another road which is usually used for parking and is impossible to drive one’s way through. The residents would also file the copy of the letter with the Urban Development Minister Krishan Kapoor and MLA B..K Chauhan.
