Manisha Nanda, the Chief Electoral Officer announced that the special summary revision of photo electoral rolls for the newly delimited 68 assembly constituencies for Vidhan Sabha and Lok Sabha elections with 1st January, 2008 as qualifying date was being conducted in the state.
The draft electoral rolls would be published by 10th July, 2008 and would be available for inspection free of cost between 10th to 24th July, 2008 in all the polling stations, offices of all the concerned Electoral Registration Officer (ADM /SDM) / Assistant Electoral Registration Officer (Tehsildar/Naib Tehsildar). Claims and objections could be filed between 10th to 24th July, 2008 and the electoral rolls would be verified on 12th July, 2008 in the meetings of Gram Sabha / Local Bodies. She said that special campaign would be launched in all the polling stations on 13th and 20th July, 2008 and the electoral rolls would be finally published on 31st August, 2008.
Electoral rolls were also available on the website of election department and voters could access them at http://ceohimachal.nic.in.
