Himachal Government would be launching a state-wide cleanliness drive from July 8 to July 15, 2008 in association with educational institutions, panchayati raj institutions, Municipal Corporation, municipal councils, nagar panchayats and non-governmental organizations active in the State.
Chief Minister said that the drive is a step towards cleanliness as the degradation of nature due to polluting activities was a matter of concern. He further appealed to every citizen of the state to come forward and actively participate in the cleanliness drive being launched in the state and educate the masses about the drastic impact of the environment degradation. He also welcomed the association of the Non-Governmental Organizations engaged in such environmental activities to give boost to the drive in the state.
