Police raided a pharmaceutical unit in Solan district and have seized a consignment of some tablets that were allegedly been manufactured in violation of copyright laws.
SR Rana, additional superintendent police told MH that on the complaint of Anil Deshwal of Piramal Health Care Products, a raid was laid on one Versa Inc Pharma unit in Sabhatu where some tablets with look alike brand of Saridon company were seized.
“The entire stock has been seized and a case under section 63 of Copyright Act and Section 420 of IPC has been made out,” said Rana.
Enforcers of Intellectual Property Rights a private investigation agency specializing in anti-counterfeiting solutions is reported to have assisted in tracking the alleged counterfeiting activity for the reputed Pharma group.
Rana said that the matter would be investigated and if some intellectual property violations get noticed, strict action in accordance with law would be taken.
