Emphasizing on the need to make every municipal body financially feasible to meet its own financial requirements, the state government would consider the proposal for suitable legislation to provide autonomous status to all such bodies in order to enhance their functioning.
Stating that the municipal bodies have the vital responsibility of keeping the towns neat and clean and deliver the best of the municipal services to the residents, he said that it was necessary to generate money from the municipal services. He asked the people of the state to contribute towards strengthening the municipal infrastructure by paying for the services they were availing.
