Narender Bragta, the Horticulture Minister disclosed that the Union Agriculture Ministry has sanctioned 80 lakhs to take preventive measures to check hail storm losses in the state on experimental basis, speaking on the occasion of a presentation given by Robert Sessler, Chairman, Spain based MNC, Innovative Solutions at New Delhi today.
He announced that the state government has asked the Union Government to use this technology on experimental basis. Appreciating the presentation, Horticulture Minister said that hail storm menace has increased manifold in the hilly areas in the recent years while no full proof system losses cash crops worth crores of rupees annually.
The presentation given by Robert Sessler showed them the latest technology in checking the losses of hailstorms in hilly areas of the country and the implementation in various parts of the world particularly in the France, Mexico and European countries. He told that his company is ready to transfer the technology to India and will propose to set up its units in Himachal Pradesh.
