Government to retrace 1857’s unsung heroes-Dhumal

Chief Minister P.K.Dhumal addressing the inaugural function of the two day long zonal conference of the Bhartiya Itihas Sankalan Samiti announced that the state government would lead researches to identify the heroes of the 1857 Revolution, maintain registers in memorial and even install statues as a mark of respect to these freedom fighters who belonged to the state. The function was organized in order to commemorate the contribution of Himachal Pradesh in the 1857 Revolution.

While H.P. in the year of 1857 was non-existent but consisted of many states, people from all the areas participated in the great Revolution of 1857 with great zeal and fervor, he added. The registers and memorials would serve as a record to inspire the coming generations. He asked the Bhartiya Itihas Sankalan Samiti to look for the necessary information.

He also announced the introduction of Yogic education in the educational institutions of the state, with people like Swami Ramdev and Sri Sri Ravi Shankar assuring the state government of all the help necessary.

Emphasizing on the need of teaching of the factual history he said that the heroes who have disappeared and forgotten unsung need to be revived and hailed to make sure that the country’s glorious past is never forgotten.
