Shimla: A state-level grievances committee has been constituted in the State, a spokesperson of the Election Department of the state said. The Chief Electoral Officer of H.P. will be appointed as the Chairperson of the Committee.
The committee would constitute two more members including one observer appointed by Election Commission of India and Station Director, Doordarshan Kendra, Shimla. As per reports the committee would look into complaints/ grievances of any political party or candidates or in that case any person in regard to the decision to either grant or refuse certification of advertisement on a television channel / cable network/ radio/video in connection with the Hamirpur Lok Sabha Bye-Elections, 2008.
